The Other Final



This information is based on information that I got it until 29th June 2002. All pictures on this page are taken on 23rd June 2002. Although unfair judgements of World Cup Games made a brutal atmosphere, let's enjoy refreshing "The other final" in Changlingmethang, Bhutan. The game is authorised by FIFA.

The population of Thimphu (the capital of Bhutan) is said about only 30,000, however 10,000 or 15,000 people will visit to the Changlingmethang stadium. And so many street dogs that live in Thimphu will visit there too. I heard more than 20,000 street dogs live in Thimphu. Entrance fee was said 100Nu (2 US$), 300Nu (6 US$) or 500Nu (10 US$) and there was the rate for foreigner. But according to latest information, it will be free. It's fantastic !!

Montserrat team has disadvantages not only as away game but game in highlands. It is heavy factor for Montserrat team but I hope both teams will enjoy playing and we can watch nice game. (When I met a player of Bhutan national team and the president of Montserrat football association in a restrant, the player said he lives in lowlands in Bhutan. So some of Bhutan team players have to play the game with heavy condition too.)

According to "KUENSEL", The kick-off time is 09:30am in BST (03:30am in GMT). But according to another source, the opening ceremony will be started at 09:30am in BST (03:30am in GMT) and the game will be started at 11:00am in BST (05:00am in GMT). BBS (Bhutan Broadcasting Service) will record the game in 30th June and broadcast the game in 1st July.
